Social internships, Solidarity to be continued

On several occasions over the years, our 11th grade students have organized their social internships at the traditional hospital in Keur Massar, most recently for the current 13th and 12th grades. But also several times in the past.

The unstable political situation in Senegal means that this venue cannot accommodate groups or trainees this year 2024.

The current 11th class is off to Kenya, and here's their call:

I urge you to read them and support them. Our top students come away from this intense experience stronger than ever.

In Keur Massar, the place is run by a former teacher from our school: Geneviève Baumann, whom some of you know well.

For my part, I have strong links with this place and I'm returning there personally this year, despite the complicated political situation. I think it's important to maintain the link, and that's what I'm doing.

I am launching an appeal to collect :

- Two 23-kilo suitcases (in good condition and roadworthy)

- Chalk and wax blocks (even small pieces)

- Blackboard chalk (for kindergarten, the children have large black slates that we made a few years ago).

- Pens, colored pencils (no felt-tips)
- Pots and tubes of water-based paint, mainly the 3 primary colors: red, yellow, blue.

- Reading books for primary school pupils

- Woodworking tools (including electric saws and sanders). We're going to make shelves

This material can be deposited under the bench opposite the secretariat, with "HTKM" identification, until April 10, 2024.

Many thanks for your donations!
