What is La Rochette?
La Rochette, an organic micro-farm based in Charmoille in the Swiss Jura, is the realization of the shared dream of its four project owners: Agathe, Anthony, Claudine and Stéphane. They are all convinced that it is possible not only to produce food, but also to live in harmony with nature and resources.
The 5,000 m2 plot on which it was established was previously organic pastureland. Gradually, the aim is to create a real professional market garden working hand in hand with biodiversity. But that's not all...
His goals
The aim of La Rochette is to create a place for living, food production and training, in order to support consumption, production and living patterns that have a reduced ( and even favorable!) impact on the environment. Short sales circuits, manual farming methods totally devoid of synthetic phytosanitary products, preservation of local varieties and educational tours are all aspects dear to La Rochette.
What does La Rochette have to offer?
Activities are divided into four areas that reflect the skills of team members:
- Market garden and vegetable baskets (Stéphane's hobby)
- Garden of aromatic and medicinal plants, transformed into herbal teas, cookies and other sweets (Claudine's declared love).
- Eco-construction mandates and permaculture consultancies (by Anthony, the team's Swiss Army knife)
- Supporting biodiversity, welcoming and caring for small animals (Agathe's darlings)
La Rochette also offers training courses, educational visits and formative workshops, as well as events for meeting and sharing!
✿ Why does La Rochette need you?
Creating such a project requires financial resources. Despite the private funds provided by team members, La Rochette needs your help to continue!
